What Marketplace is
Marketplace is cross-shop B2B commerce on the platform:
Shops publish listings (priced items) tied to their company profile
Staff from other shops browse, checkout, and pay
Money settles through the seller’s configured Payment processor (same Settings area as order invoices)
Receipts track purchases and sales
It is not the customer portal (/portal) and not anonymous e-commerce on the marketing site. Buyers and sellers are signed-in shop staff.
Portfolio vs Marketplace (reminder)
Need | Where |
|---|---|
Brand story, team, talent | Portfolio ( |
Price, publish, sell an item | Marketplace Products ( |
There is no separate “portfolio products” SKU tree. Showcase ≠ sellable listing.
Prerequisites
Plan includes
Marketplace(default Free+).Product mode includes
portfolio(Marketplace URLs share that mode gate with/portfolio).Company profile exists (from setup or
/portfolio/company).To sell online: Settings → Shop → Payments must be ready for online collection.
To manage listings: seller tools expect portfolio seller permission; browse/checkout use marketplace permission. In the UI, listing CRUD lives under Marketplace → Products.
Blocked without entitlement: upgrade-style panel on the marketplace layout. Wrong product mode: access-denied style redirect.

Listing lifecycle (high level)
DRAFT → ACTIVE → SOLD
↘ ARCHIVED
Only ACTIVE listings with a price > 0 and a seller with payments ready can be bought by another shop. Purchase claims the listing ACTIVE → SOLD (one winner if two buyers race).
Demo data
New shops that run setup with Portfolio mode often get sample listings (e.g. one ACTIVE + one DRAFT). Treat them as examples—edit, archive, or replace before serious selling.
Listing photos and clear sizes reduce disputes — update stock as soon as a sale clears.
