Staff receipts
When an invoice is Paid, a receipt appears under Receipts.
Print from the list or from the order when needed.
Email may include a public receipt link when configured.
Commerce docs also live on the order Details panel — same records as these lists.
What buyers see
Invited customers open the Customer portal:
Invoices — open balances, pay one or Pay all open when eligible
Receipts — history of what they paid
Details: Customer portal.

Send the invoice from the job once totals are final — edits after payment get messy for the buyer.
