Configure this before you try to buy a label.
Steps
Upgrade to Starter+ if needed.
Open Settings → Shipping.
Fill in:
Setting | Why it matters |

Default service | Preferred speed level |
Carrier accounts | UPS / FedEx / USPS credentials |
Without ship-from and at least one working carrier, rate shop and purchase will fail even on a paid plan.
Sandbox vs live
Use sandbox while training the team. Switch to live credentials only when you’re ready to spend real postage.
Set packing box types and ship types before buying labels — wrong box size shows up as wasted postage.
