Step 1 — Choose a plan
Open Pricing (from the marketing site menu).
Pick a self-serve plan:
Free —
$0Starter —
$99/moPro —
$199/mo
The button takes you to signup with that plan selected.
Custom is not selectable at signup — contact sales or ask your MadeLab platform team to assign it later.

Step 2 — Fill the signup form
Page: Sign up (staff / shop signup — not the buyer portal).

You can also sign up with Google. That still creates a new shop and first admin.

A new shop workspace (its own customers, orders, and settings)
Your account as the first admin
The chosen plan active so you can continue to Setup
Default catalogs and sample jobs are installed in the Setup wizard — not during the signup form itself.
Step 3 — Activate the account (live / production sites)
On a normal deployed site:
Check the inbox for the signup email.
Open the activate link and set a password if asked.
Open the welcome email and use Start shop setup.
That unlocks the Setup wizard for your shop.
Without activation / setup unlock, you usually cannot finish opening the shop as designed.
Trial or test sites
Some trial environments let you set a password right away, sign in, and go straight to Setup without the email unlock loop.
Step 4 — Sign in to the staff app
Open Sign in for staff (not the customer portal), or use Platform Login → Shop Login on the marketing site header.
After you’re signed in, that header button becomes Platform → Go to Dashboard.
Use email + password (or Google if you linked it).
If the shop is Suspended, sign-in is blocked.
If Setup is not finished, the app keeps sending you back to Setup until the wizard completes.
Invited staff (not a new shop owner)
An existing admin opens Users → creates a user:
No password → they get an activation email.
That person joins the existing shop — no second shop is created.
Stay within your plan’s user limit.
Customer portal ≠ opening a shop
Portal → Sign up is for buyers on an existing shop. Do not use it to open a new MadeLab workspace.
