Can I use /auth/signup to add an employee?
No. That opens a new shop. Invite staff at /users.
We hit “user limit” on Free/Starter
Only active users count. Deactivate unused accounts or upgrade at /pricing / /billing.
Activation email never arrives
Check spam; use Resend Activation on /users/[id]. Tokens expire (~24h). Confirm shop email delivery with ops if still failing.
Admins & deletes
Why can’t I delete another admin?
Shop admins cannot delete admin users. Ask platform support/root if that is truly required.
Why can’t I remove the last admin?
The shop must keep at least one admin. Promote or invite another admin before demoting/deleting the last one.
Can I delete my own user?
No. Have another admin deactivate or delete you (within rules).
Roles & permissions
Where do I create a custom role for my shop?
You don’t, on current product. Role definitions are platform root on /roles. Shops assign existing roles on /users.
Staff see Orders but not pricing fields
Check Settings → Team permissions (order field matrix). On Free/Starter you may only view defaults; Pro+ can edit. Also confirm the role has the right module permissions.
User groups don’t change what someone can open
Correct — groups are membership/org labels. Roles (and Team permissions) control access.
Access & shop state
Permission denied everywhere
Missing role permissions, inactive user, suspended shop (staff cannot sign in), or a plan / product mode that does not include that area.
Platform root’s /users looks different
Root sees cross-tenant staff, Print shop column, and stronger delete options. Shop admins only see their tenant.
Customers in the People menu?
People mixes CRM (Customers, Vendors) with staff (Users, User Groups). Staff admin = Users + User Groups.

Switch As missing in the header
You need admin or manager (or be platform root). Floor roles do not get it.
